CROTON PLANT

Croton plant (Codiaeum variegatum) is a tropical evergreen shrub known for its vividly colored foliage, featuring a wide range of colors including green, yellow, red, orange, and purple. The leaves come in various shapes such as broad, narrow, twisted, or lobed, often displaying dramatic variegation and veining. Native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, croton thrives in warm, humid climates and prefers well-drained soil with plenty of sunlight to maintain its bright coloration. It can grow up to 10 feet tall in the wild but is typically kept much smaller when grown indoors or as a decorative garden plant. Croton requires consistent moisture and humidity, and it can drop leaves if exposed to cold drafts or sudden environmental changes. While widely appreciated for its ornamental value, the plant contains toxic compounds and should be kept away from pets and small children. With proper care, croton adds a bold, tropical touch to both indoor and outdoor spaces.
