CASSIA NODOSA

Cassia nodosa is a tropical deciduous tree known for its spectacular display of cascading pink flowers. Native to Southeast Asia, this fast-growing tree is often planted along roadsides, parks, and large gardens for its vibrant spring-to-summer bloom, which resembles a shower of soft pink petals — earning it the name Pink Shower Tree.

Reaching heights of 20–30 feet, Cassia nodosa has an upright, spreading habit and a relatively open canopy that allows light through. Its flowers appear in long, hanging clusters (racemes), and are attractive to bees and butterflies. The tree also produces slender, cylindrical seed pods after flowering.

It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and is tolerant of heat and moderate drought once established. With its seasonal charm and minimal care requirements, Cassia nodosa is an excellent choice for tropical and subtropical landscapes looking to add both color and elegance.
