PLUM TREE(آلو بخارا)

The plum tree (genus Prunus), known in Urdu as آلو بخارا, is a deciduous fruit tree cultivated worldwide for its juicy and flavorful fruits. Depending on the variety, plums can be sweet or tart, and come in colors ranging from deep purple and red to yellow and green. The tree typically grows 3 to 8 meters tall, with white or pink spring blossoms that are both fragrant and ornamental.

Plums are consumed fresh or dried (commonly known as prunes or آلو بخارا when dried in South Asia). They are rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as antioxidants and dietary fiber. In traditional medicine, especially in South Asia, dried plums are used for digestive health, as a mild laxative, and in herbal remedies.

Plum trees require a temperate climate, well-drained soil, and proper pruning for good fruit production. They’re also popular in home gardens due to their beauty and fruit yield.
