JATROPHA

Jatropha (Jatropha curcas) is a versatile, drought-resistant shrub or small tree native to Central America but widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. It features shiny, lobed green leaves and produces clusters of small, vibrant red or yellow flowers throughout the year.

Known for its resilience in poor soils and arid climates, Jatropha is commonly planted for soil conservation, as a hedge, or for producing seeds rich in oil, which is used in the production of biofuels and traditional medicines.

Though the plant has several beneficial uses, its seeds and sap are toxic if ingested, so caution is advised when handling or planting around children and pets.
